Dec 1, 1994 · Curtis Field, a United States Army flying field on U.S. Highway 283 3½ miles north of Brady in central McCulloch County, was named for Mayor Harry L. Curtis of Brady, who proposed the site as an auxiliary field for the army.
In 1942, the facility was taken over by the United States Army Air Forces and was used during World War II as a pilot training airfield. The City of Brady currently owns the airport and operates it as a general aviation facility.
The airport is located just outside the City, located on North Bridge Street (Hwy 377N). Brady Curtis Field Airport has two runways: The runways are well-maintained and in excellent condition. Runway 17/35 has pilot-controlled lighting.
