A suspect was arrested Friday in a shooting that left one person dead and another injured at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque and prompted a shelter-in-place order, officials said. John Fuentes, 18, was arrested by state police officers at a traffic stop around 2:30 p.m. Friday, said Troy Weisler, chief of the New Mexico State Police.

An 18-year-old man was arrested in the death of a 14-year-old boy and injury of another person while playing video games at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque.

The University of New Mexico campus has been shut down and students were told to shelter in place after an early morning shooting Friday.
