The loss was so frustrating that it drove some rare criticism from manager Dave Roberts pointed at two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani, who is typically spared from any negativity by the manager. Roberts was clear that Ohtani was to blame for trying to steal a base with two outs in the sixth inning and Freddie Freeman at the plate.

Aside from the baserunning blunder, it's difficult to pin the blame for Sunday's loss on Ohtani, who belted his 41st home run of the season, tied for the National League lead, while collecting another hit and a pair of walks.
