French President Emmanuel Macron warned that the global credibility of the U.S. and its NATO allies is on the line in Ukraine, as President Donald Trump attempts to end the Russian invasion once and for all.

P resident Donald Trump told President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine on Monday that the United States would join Europe in providing security guarantees to Kyiv as part of a broader peace deal with Russia, the clearest signal yet that the White House is prepared to underwrite Ukraine’s long-term defense while pressing for negotiations with Moscow.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is in Washington to meet with US President Donald Trump for talks aimed at ending the war with Russia. This comes on the heels of Trump’s meeting on Friday with Russian President Vladimir Putin who insists on Ukraine giving up territory as part of a deal.

President Trump has offered only vague assurances of security guarantees for Ukraine if President Volodymyr Zelensky agrees to cut a deal with Russia.
