Roche said on Tuesday it would invest $50 billion in the United States over the next five years, creating more than 12,000 new jobs, in the latest massive investment by companies reacting to President Donald Trump's tariff policy.

Roche promised that its investments in the U.S. means it will export more medicines than it imports in the U.S.

The pharma giant said the investment would create more than 12,000 jobs, as it joins rival Novartis in expanding its footprint in the country amid President Trump’s tariff threats.

Swiss pharmaceuticals powerhouse Roche says it plans to invest $50 billion in the United States over the next five years and create 12,000 jobs.

The Basel-based company said the investment would go toward high-tech research and development sites and new manufacturing facilities in places including Massachusetts, California, Indiana, and Pennsylvania.
