Boston Red Sox ace Garrett Crochet had a close call Sunday when a liner skipped off his glove and nose on its way to second base for a groundout.

Garrett Crochet took a no decision Sunday, but that doesn't mean his day wasn't eventful. A first-pitch homer, a comebacker that grazed his nose and diminished velocity highlighted a strange outing for the lefty ace.

Pitching with no outs in the fourth inning, Garrett Crochet had Carlos Correa's 87 mph line drive clip him on the nose. That deflection off the nose was enough to knock the ball down for second baseman Kristian Campbell to make a play and throw out Correa at first.
