Abdul Carter is ready to make an immediate impact on the New York Giants after the team used the No. 2 pick in this year's draft on the former Penn State linebacker. Now he just needs a jersey number.

Lawrence Taylor is one of the greatest linebackers to ever play the game, having amassed 132.5 sacks — 139 if you include the playoffs — over the course of a 13-year career that was played entirely in New York with the Giants.

A couple of weeks into his tenure with the New York Giants, Abdul Carter still does not have a number. The third overall pick is not completely settled in quite yet. Asking to wear the No. 11 he did at Penn State was turned down because the Giants retired it for Phil Simms.
