CIA Director John Ratcliffe provided FBI Director Patel the intelligence that was the basis of the search warrant, a source familiar with the matter told NBC News.

The FBI has searched the Maryland home and Washington office of ex-Trump national security adviser John Bolton as part of an investigation into the handling of classified information.

Sources familiar with the matter told ABC News that the search, carried out by the FBI, was related to allegations that Bolton is in possession of classified records.
