As a rule, the Pittsburgh Steelers negotiate contract extensions with their top players in the offseason heading into the final year of their contract. This is the position the Steelers find themselves in with wide receiver George Pickens but Pickens’ production and behavior have muddied the waters of his future with this team.

Case in point: A new piece from The Athletic's Mike DeFabo alleges Pickens reported to the field for Pittsburgh's Christmas game against the Kansas City Chiefs 35 minutes after Tomlin's requested arrival time, which is at least two hours before kickoff.

Wide receiver George Pickens was the subject of the final question at Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin's end of season press conference on Tuesday.
