MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Texas Rangers signed veteran reliever Craig Kimbrel to a minor-league contract Wednesday. The 37-year-old Kimbrel will report to Triple-A Round Rock this week.

Overall, he's appeared in 838 games with a 2.59 ERA. He spent the first five years of his career in Atlanta. The Rangers enter play on Tuesday at 31-35 and in fourth place in the American League West.
