A 27-year-old woman was briefly dragged underwater in a Martin County river when an alligator attacked her, biting her hand and wrist.

A woman has survived an alligator attack during a swim in Florida waters, authorities said. The animal bit the hand and wrist of the 27-year-old victim, who has not been publicly identified, and pulled her underwater before releasing her.
