Rafael Devers’ relationship with the Boston Red Sox disintegrated quickly. Multiple off-the-field issues, including two disagreements over his role as a positional player and a poorly received meeting with owner John Henry, culminated in the three-time All-Star being traded to the San Francisco Giants.

The Boston Red Sox have already traded a key player in Rafael Devers. They could look to move on from another player who figured to be part of their future.

Coming off a weekend sweep of the Yankees and a five-game winning streak, the Red Sox dealt Devers to the San Francisco Giants with eight-and-a-half seasons and $271.2 million remaining on his contract. The return of Jordan Hicks, Kyle Harrison, James Tibbs and Jose Bello added to the stunning nature of the deal.
