SAN FRANCISCO – The Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame announced today at NBA All-Star Weekend 2025 the selection of 17 Finalists from the following committees: North American, Women’s, Men’s Veterans, Women’s Veterans, International, and Contributors.

Former NBA stars Dwight Howard and Carmelo Anthony have been named finalists for the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame, according to Washington Post NBA reporter Ben Golliver. The two standout players from the 2000s are joined by WNBA legends Maya Moore and Sue Bird,

Anthony and Howard were among the finalists announced Friday by the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame for enshrinement as part of the class of 2025. They both made it as individuals — and for their roles on the 2008 U.S. Olympic team that won gold at the Beijing Games, the so-called "Redeem Team" that also is now one step from induction.
