PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - 69 years ago, a mistake in an ad led to a decades-long tradition of tracking Santa Claus on Christmas Eve. According to the North American Aerospace Defense Command, or NORAD, in 1955 a department store posted an ad with a phone number that children could call if they wanted to speak to Santa Claus.
