Joao Palhinha ’s Tottenham shirt number has been confirmed after joining on a season-long loan deal. Palhinha became Spurs ’ latest signing of the summer transfer window at the weekend as his move from Bayern Munich was officially announced.

Tottenham's number six shirt was perhaps most notably worn by Steve Perryman, who holds the record for the most appearances for the Lilywhites with a staggering 866 between 1969 and 1986.

The deal includes an option to make the transfer permanent for €30million (£25.9m, $34.2m) at the end of the season.
