The Denver Broncos are holding a rookie minicamp this weekend for their seven draft picks, 15 undrafted free agents and more than two dozen tryout players. The most notable of those tryout players was expected to be veteran quarterback Desmond Ridder.

Free agent quarterback Desmond Ridder was expected to have a veteran tryout with the Broncos this weekend. He now won't. Parker Gabriel of The Denver Post reports that Ridder no longer will attend the team's three-day rookie minicamp.

Teams can have veterans in their rookie minicamp on a tryout basis. The Broncos in 2023 liked what they saw from quarterback Ben DiNucci, who had just come off a successful UFL season. They signed him to their 90-man roster and then carried him on the practice squad through the entire season.
