Winter is coming to “1923,” too. In the first trailer for the second season of Taylor Sheridan’s “Yellowstone” prequel, Jacob (Harrison Ford) and Cara (Helen Mirren) face a bitter season at Dutton ranch, with enemies and freezing cold threatening to end the legacy they are building.

Around the same time that Yellowstone season 5 went on a surprise hiatus in January 2023, creator Taylor Sheridan also wrapped the first season of a new spin-off titled 1923. The Great Depression–era story introduced audiences to the Dutton family from a century ago—boasting big names such as Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren.

The Duttons aren’t letting their home go without a fight.

Now that Yellowstone has wrapped up its long-running and maligned fifth (and seemingly final?) season, the next major step forward, or arguably backwards, for the franchise is to return to the prequel show 1923.

Paramount+ has released the official trailer for the second season of Academy Award nominee Taylor Sheridan's original drama series 1923.

Yellowstone co-creator Taylor Sheridan, David C. Glasser, John Linson, Art Linson, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Ben Richardson, Michael Friedman and Keith Cox. The series is distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.

The show stars a grizzled but game Harrison Ford opposite Helen Mirren as the patriarch and matriarch of the Dutton clan, decades before the events of Yellowstone, which became a sensationally popular show. It's gritty and gets to revel in the interwar period that it makes its home.

The legacy of the Dutton family ranch is under siege in the new trailer for season 2 of 1923, released on Sunday, January 19. The Yellowstone prequel, starring Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren, hints at escalating tension and new enemies as wealthy elites attempt to transform Montana into a luxury playground.
