The Dallas Cowboys have a very important offseason ahead of them. They have some key free agents and could lose one of them to the Washington Commanders.

There have been 35 head coaches that won a Super Bowl. Just four of those won Super Bowls after their seventh season with their organization.

The Dallas Cowboys will need to spend their available cap space on players to fill spots of need across their roster, but there are players already within the confines of The Star whom they can utilize that money on.

Mike McCarthy has decided that he will not coach in the NFL in the 2025 season, NFL Network Insiders Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport reported Tuesday, as the former Cowboys and Packers head coach has decided to instead focus on the 2026 hiring cycle.

Schottenheimer and the Cowboys have named Dave Borgonzi, Aaron Whitecotton and Andre Curtis to the staff, the team announced Wednesday. All three are defensive hires. And all three new additions were greatly influenced by new Cowboys defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus . Schottenheimer, though, had final say on the hires as head coach.

Al Harris comes to the Chicago Bears after serving as the Dallas Cowboys' defensive backs coach the last five seasons.

McCarthy, whose contract expired with the Cowboys and wasn't signed to an extension, will sit out the 2025 season, according to NFL Media's Tom Pelissero. McCarthy removed his name from consideration for the New Orleans Saints' vacancy. The Saints are the last team to have a head coaching job open this offseason.
