A major US airline announced it will accept online booking payments from Venmo to attract younger flyers. Customers are shown a pop-up window with a QR code to scan on the payment app.

Venmo payment options are available on the airline’s website and will roll out on their mobile app “in the coming months,” the carrier announced.

Until 11:59 p.m. PT on Jan. 23, book one-way tickets on Southwest for as low as $69. This deal includes travel between Feb. 11 and May 22, but comes with a few blackout dates to destinations like Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and international locations.

The ubiquity of PayPal checkout means you'll have many chances to snag a high rewards rate. Non-PayPal purchases, though, earn a less-spectacular rate, and the card lacks a few key features.

For now, flights will be leave the US via Baltimore’s BWI Airport, a major Southwest hub also served by Icelandair. Denver and Nashville are expected to be added later as additional gateway cities. An exact launch date for the connecting service has yet to be announced.
