Thursday was a happy homecoming for Sabres forward Jack Quinn, whose pair of early goals led Buffalo to a 4-0 shutout of the Ottawa Senators at Canadian Tire Centre. Quinn, an Ottawa native, had plenty of guests in attendance to watch him give the Sabres a 2-0 lead in the first period.
Anton Forsberg made 17 saves for the Senators (19-18-3), who have been outscored 15-4 during a four-game losing streak (0-3-1). Quinn gave the Sabres a 1-0 lead at 10:17 of the first period when he beat Forsberg with a wrist shot low blocker.
The Buffalo Sabres have put together two very well-played games, and are now 5-2-1 in their last eight games. Buffalo walked into Ottawa on Thursday night and shut out the Senators, 4-0, behind Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen’s 35 saves.
