Organizations across the NYC area are marking MLK Day with special events honoring the civil rights leader's legacy.

A special birthday bash was held for a woman from New Jersey who turned 108 years old on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, an occasion she calls a "blessing."

For the 21st straight year, Stockton University paid tribute to Martin Luther King Jr. on the holiday for the late civil rights leader.
