A Greenwood and Danforth measuring station reported the city’s worst air quality Saturday evening. Smoky skies are likely throughout the weekend.

Wildfire smoke from the Prairies is drifting towards the Greater Toronto Area, prompting Environment Canada to issue a special air quality statement.

Toronto’s air quality index was at eight, or “high risk,” this morning. Environment Canada says reduced air quality can cause mild eye, nose and throat irritation while more serious but less common symptoms include chest pains and a severe cough.
