The fire was 100% contained by Monday morning, according to the New Jersey State Forest Fire Service. On Sunday evening, the fire known as the California Branch Wildfire, was 80% contained.
By 11 p.m. Friday, flames had grown to 3,250 acres, state fire officials had said. The blaze, dubbed the Mines Spung Wildfire, is located within Wharton State Forest in Shamong Township.
