“The Fantastic Four: First Steps” grossed $118 million at the domestic box office over the weekend—largely meeting earlier projections, but still placing it behind “Superman” for the biggest superhero film opening of 2025 so far.

Fantastic Four: First Steps opened to an estimated $57 million in the United States on Friday, including preview screenings, making it the second-largest opening day of the year. The figure puts the Marvel Cinematic Universe entry just behind A Minecraft Movie, which earned $57.11 million on its opening day.

First Steps has clinched the sixth-best opening for a post-Covid Marvel Cinematic release, with a projected take-in of around $120-$125 million, Deadline reported. The Disney-Marvel popcorn flick is the fourth film to cross the $100M-plus opening this year,

The movie is the latest from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and marks the third “Fantastic Four” film adaptation since 2005.
