A woman was killed in a house fire in Fanwood, New Jersey, despite the attempts of a neighbor who was seriously burned while trying to save her.

A tanker truck spilled about 800 gallons of fuel at a Wawa in Wildwood on Sunday, according to the fire department.

A motorcyclist was killed in a fiery crash Tuesday on Interstate 80 that caused a nearly five-acre brush fire, authorities said. New Jersey State Police officers responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash on I-80 west in the Parsippany-Troy Hills area of Morris County at 1:10 p.m., a spokesperson for the state police said.

A fire in Wharton early Saturday morning left three people injured and multiple families displaced, according to authorities. Firefighters responded to the Overlook Village Complex just before 2 a.m. Five townhouses were damaged by the blaze. A firefighter, a police officer and a resident were treated for minor injuries at the scene.

A 54-year-old New Jersey man is charged with attempted homicide after pouring gasoline on a woman and threatening to light her on fire Friday morning, police said.

EMS scanners said a car fire was reported shortly before the wildfire was, but it's unconfirmed if the two fires are related.
