CenterPoint and Entergy are preparing to manage power outages in the Greater Houston area due to a winter storm.

Storm Enzo is expected to dump 2-5 inches of snow to the Houston area. The major utility provider is confident it won't be a repeat of Hurricane Beryl.

Ahead of the winter storm that barreled towards South Texas, CenterPoint said they are prepared for what the winter storm will bring, including having thousands of staff on standby.

CenterPoint Energy activated its Emergency Operations Center this afternoon in advance of Winter Storm Enzo's arrival to be prepared to manage its response and restoration efforts. The company is coordinating with state and local emergency partners as it prepares to respond to the potential winter impacts on the Greater Houston area.

The company is expecting 1,200 additional mutual aid workers to arrive Monday, doubling its response workforce.
