After directing the 2022 movie Barbarian, which earned rave reviews, Zach Cregger’s encore performance came in the form of the horror/mystery film Weapons. And based on the early returns, it’s fair to say that Cregger is on a bit of a heater.

The filmmaker began writing the feature after the death of a friend, but its final section came from mining his childhood. Still, he is ready for viewers to take what they will from the story: "I don't care if any of this stuff comes through.
