A quick fix to Wi-Fi authentication problems on Android is to toggle airplane mode on and off, or "forget" the Wi-Fi network and reconnect to it.

ASUS has released a new firmware update that addresses a vulnerability impacting seven router models that allow remote attackers to log in to devices.

Malicious individuals can intercept authentication tokens from Android users running applications over an unsecured WiFi network, said researchers from Germany’s University of Ulm on May 13.

Users who cannot apply patches immediately must strengthen router and WiFi authentication to protect against attackers hijacking router functions.
