President Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff posted on X that he had spent hours inside Gaza to gain 'a clear understanding of the humanitarian situation and help craft a plan to deliver food and medical aid to the people of Gaza.

Hospitals in Gaza have reported the killing of more than a dozen people, half of them food-seekers, by Israeli fire on Saturday as Palestinians endured severe risks in their search for food amid airdrops and restrictions on overland aid delivery.

From May 27 to Thursday last week, 859 people were killed near GHF sites, according to a UN report. Hundreds more have been killed along the routes of UN-led food convoys. Local police once guarded those convoys, but Israeli fire targeted the officers.
