Speaking for the first time since the trade that sent the longtime Boston Bruins captain to Florida, Maurice acknowledged the history between Marchand and the Panthers.

Florida Panthers head coach Paul Maurice told the media on Tuesday that the team is hopeful that recently-acquired winger Brad Marchand will make his debut with the team before the end of the 2024-25 regular season.

After suiting up 1,247 times (including playoffs) in Black and Gold, Marchand took his first twirls in his new colors — those of the Florida Panthers — and noted the “mourning” that comes with moving on from an organization that has been part of his life since the June 2006 draft.
