An ongoing attempt by Cracker Barrel Old Country Store to revamp its brand triggered a backlash and unleashed a selloff that wiped out most of the dining chain’s year-to-date stock price gains.

Cracker Barrel Old Country Store on Monday issued a statement responding to the backlash it faced last week over its rebranding and new logo.

In its statement, Cracker Barrel wrote that it could have “done a better job” communicating the changes and said that it was “grateful” for the fan response.
