Children's Hospital of Philadelphia will put the money toward a new $2.59 billion patient tower expected to open in late 2028.

Comcast chief Brian Roberts has donated $125 million to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia to build a new patient tower and refurbish existing facilities. The gift unveiled Thursday is the largest single donation made in the 170-year history of the hospital that was the first in the nation to focus on pediatric health.
