Delhi’s political landscape is poised for a significant change as Atishi, the Chief Minister-designate, prepares to take her oath of office on 21.

Arvind Kejriwal resigned as the Delhi chief minister on Tuesday, after which Atishi staked claim to form a new government in the national capital.

Atishi, who was proposed as the CM-designate by Arvind Kejriwal, will take oath along with her council of ministers.

Four ministers in the Arvind Kejriwal government will retain their posts as Atishi takes charge as Delhi's new Chief Minister on Friday, sources have said.

Atishi will become Delhi’s third female chief minister, following Sheila Dikshit of Congress and Sushma Swaraj of BJP.

The ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) party had initially decided that only Atishi would be sworn in, however, it was later determined that her council of ministers would also take the oath.

This transition follows Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's resignation, which he submitted to Delhi Lt Governor V.K. Saxena on Tuesday. Atishi, who was previously appointed as the Leader of AAP's legislature party,
