Philadelphia Phillies ace Zack Wheeler will retire from MLB in 2027 after his three-year, $126 million contract expires, he told The Athletic.

Zack Wheeler remains one of the most dominant pitchers in baseball, but he doesn't plan to remain in the game once his current contract with the Philadelphia Phillies expires after the 2027 season.

In six seasons with the Phillies, Wheeler is 65-34 with a 2.93 ERA, including 6-2 with a 2.85 ERA in 13 starts in 2025.
