Two United Airlines jets made contact during an incident at San Francisco International Airport Monday night, prompting the cancellation of both flights.

In a statement, the Federal Aviation Administration said United Flight 863 heading to Sydney, Australia and United Flight 877 bound for Hong Kong were the two planes involved. Flight 863’s left wingtip collided with the right wingtip of Flight 877 about 12:35 a.m., the FAA said.

United Airlines is taking matters into its own hands regarding the recent travel issues at Newark Liberty International Airport. Since last week, travelers using the New Jersey airport have experienced severe delays or outright cancelations of flights.
