The first 27 satellites for Amazon's Kuiper broadband internet constellation were launched into space from Florida on Monday, kicking off the long-delayed deployment of an internet-from-space network that will rival SpaceX's Starlink.

Amazon has successfully launched its first satellites for the company’s Project Kuiper internet-from-space service, which will take on SpaceX’s Starlink service.

Tonight's launch marked the first-ever liftoff for this particular Falcon 9's first stage. That's a rarity for SpaceX, which is known for its rocket reuse; one of the company's Falcon 9 boosters has 27 flights under its belt.
