The Texas Longhorns men's basketball team will officially take on the Virginia Cavaliers for the first time in program history next season during the ACC/SEC Challenge in Austin. The team recently announced the official date for the event,

This will be the third season of the women’s ACC-SEC Challenge. The SEC leads the ACC 17-13 in the last two seasons, a more even result than that of the men’s side.

Much like the previous matchup, there isn’t a lot to go off here. Boston College will likely be picked to finish last in the ACC this season, and LSU will be trying to get back into the NCAA Tournament with a roster that would be pretty solid in most years in the SEC but doesn’t look all that impressive relative to how loaded the league has become.

BATON ROUGE – LSU is set to face Duke in iconic Cameron Indoor Stadium for the ACC/SEC Challenge this upcoming season on Thursday, December 4. It will be a clash of two teams who have consistently been ranked highly in recent years. Both teams are coming off Elite Eight appearances in the 2025 NCAA Tournament.

Mizzou holds a 7-2 all-time series record against Notre Dame, including two consecutive victories. In the last meeting, the then-No. 21 ranked Tigers drubbed the Fighting Irish 87-58 in a CBE Classic semifinal Nov. 21, 2011, in Kansas City.

This will be the third season of the ACC-SEC Challenge. The SEC leads the ACC 21-9 in the last two seasons, including a 14-2 domination of the ACC last season.

ESPN announced their slate for the 2025 ACC/SEC Challenge on Thursday, setting Ole Miss up with a home game against Miami on Tuesday, December 2 in the SJB Pavilion. Tip times and TV designations will be announced at a later date.
