After years of reconstruction following a destructive fire, Paris' Notre Dame Cathedral is reopened to the public, boasting a restored interior and new roof.

The Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris is now preparing to celebrate Christmas Mass since recently reopened after years of renovations to fix the damage caused by a devastating fire. NBC’s Keir Simmons reports for TODAY.

Of course, Paris is a major tourist destination year-round, and Notre Dame is among its most popular attractions. Don’t expect to get the place to yourself no matter when you visit; the cathedral has a capacity of 2,500 people at a time.

Visitors can admire Viollet-le-Duc's restored spire and the roofs of the nave and choir. Three themed tour routes will be offered, each enabling visitors to discover different facets of the cathedral, from religious heritage to works of art. Full guided tours and group access will be available from June 2025.

You'll have to wait until April 2025 to find available seats, especially for the organ recital on Tuesday, April 1. Other sacred music concerts at Notre-Dame can be booked for May, June, July and August 2025. Tickets cost a minimum of 25 euros, and should be purchased well in advance.
