The Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase on Thursday showed trailers for some games already announced for the Nintendo Switch 2 and revealed a few new ones as well. The biggest of those debut games is the third game in the Octopath Traveler series,

One of the final frames of the trailer shows what looks like a group battle, with the player monitoring the statuses of multiple characters all at once. While it’s just a guess based on the few details revealed during the stream, Octopath Traveler 0 looks like a major evolution from the previous games in the franchise.

Octopath Traveler 0 closed out this morning’s Nintendo Direct, and long-time fans immediately clocked that, despite the new name, the prequel RPG seemed to draw heavily from the 2022 mobile game Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent.
