Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James challenged the Minnesota Timberwolves' Anthony Edwards to "make the next step" after the Wolves eliminated the Lakers from the 2025 NBA playoffs. The two shared a quick exchange on the court following Minnesota's 103-96 win in Game 5:

A recent leaked audio displayed Anthony Edwards talking trash to LeBron James at the end of Game 5 as he demanded the Lakers forward to congratulate his teammate Rudy Gobert for his dominant performance.

Edwards also called out Stephen A. Smith, Paul Pierce and all of the other analysts at ESPN who counted out Minnesota in this series. They all had the Lakers coming out of this first-round clash, and Edwards and the Wolves just made them eat their words.
