Peter Kwon, a three-term member of the SeaTac City Council, led a crowded and close race Tuesday for an open seat on the Metropolitan King County Council.

Early results from the Primary Election on Tuesday show some close races-- with Seattle being a hot one. As of the first returns, incumbent Bruce Harrell is trailing challenger Katie Wilson by nearly 1,300 votes. Both have such a lead that they will appear on the November ballot.

King County is guaranteed to have a Democrat as the next county executive, as County Councilmembers Claudia Balducci and Girmay Zahilay advance to the general election as the two top vote-getters. Zahilay received 40.
