This is the 30th anniversary of the 1995 Houston Rockets going back-to-back, the most unlikely, unpredictable, unsinkable and irrepressible run to a championship in NBA history.
The Houston Rockets have made one of the biggest moves of the offseason, and free agency hasn't even started. The team has signed veteran center Steven Adams to a new three-year, $39 million contract extension to keep him off the open market.
During the 1995 playoffs, the Houston Rockets played the Utah Jazz (60), Phoenix Suns (59) and San Antonio Spurs (62) in the Western Conference. To which they then met the Orlando Magic (57) in the NBA Finals.
It was June 14, 1995, when Hakeem Olajuwon’s Rockets completed perhaps the most iconic run to a championship in NBA history.
ESPN's Shams Charania reported that the Rockets re-signed their center Steven Adams. Adams is a fan favorite, and Houston will be delighted to bring him back. Adams will be 32 next season, and just signed a three-year extension worth $39 million.
