MasterChef bosses have issued an update on the show's future following the sacking of Gregg Wallace and John Torode.

MasterChef' producer Banijay UK hired a full-time welfare specialist to support presenter Gregg Wallace as he faced misconduct allegations.

"I was never the caricature now being sold for clicks," Wallace responded in a statement posted to Instagram on Tuesday.

MasterChef has already begun its casting process for the next series following the axing of Gregg Wallace and John Torode.
