A 4-year-old Florida boy fatally shot himself in the head while playing with a handgun he found in his parents’ car as he waited for the rest of his family to go out for pizza, according to authorities.

A 4-year-old Florida boy died after accidentally shooting himself with a gun he allegedly found under a car seat. Police in Davenport, Fla., say the boy, identified as Chosen Morris, died as the family was getting set to leave the house with his family, according to reports from WFLA, Fox 13 and WFTV .

The boy was waiting for his family in the car when he found the gun under the driver’s seat, according to Davenport police.

A 4-year-old boy excited for a family outing to get pizza went to wait in the car, then he found his dad’s gun and shot himself, Florida authorities said. Chosen Morris died the next day, the Davenport Police Department shared.
