The Denver Broncos checked all of those boxes until they found Bo Nix in the first round of the 2024 draft.  Nix, behind the guidance of head coach Sean Payton, took the Broncos to the playoffs for the first time in nearly a decade in his first year on the job.

In his first season, Nix threw for more yards and more touchdowns than 2024 NFL MVP Josh Allen, leading the Broncos to their first postseason appearance in nearly a decade. It will remain to be seen how Nix performs in the coming seasons, but with his trajectory, it's hard to imagine Walder being accurate in his assessment. Time will tell, indeed.

ESPN experts had a bold prediction that Box Nix would lose his starting job in 2027, and it'll be his last season with the Broncos.
