A Cal Fire captain died after she was stabbed multiple times in her San Diego County home, according to authorities.

A San Diego County Cal Fire captain was stabbed to death inside her home on Monday night, officials said. San Diego Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon just before 9 p.

Deputies from the San Diego Sheriff's Office found Rebecca Marodi in her home with multiple stab wounds on Monday. She died at the scene.

According to a press release sent by the sheriff's department, the motivation and circumstances of the homicide were unknown and there was no suspect information.
