Multiple buildings have been destroyed and new evacuations have been ordered as a wind-driven wildfire has nearly doubled in size as it burns through parts of Apache County.

Residents in Greer and South Fork have been ordered to evacuate their homes after the Greer Fire broke out Tuesday in the small eastern Arizona town.

A wildfire continues to burn through the Apache Sitgreaves National Forest near Greer, prompting evacuation orders for multiple areas.

The fire sparked on May 13 and has grown to over 3,000 acres. Multiple structures have reportedly been destroyed. Greer and South Fork residents in Apache County should evacuate their homes.

The wind-driven Greer Fire started on private land and destroyed multiple structures, the Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management said.
